Wa lao sian. Liverpool always screw up in the season opener. I knew from the start that we will not win the game as Carragher and John Arne Riise were both subsituted out before the 2nd half. Riise's injury looked kinda serious but no updates are given yet. Zenden played in the centre midfield along with Sissoko with Gerrard playing on the right flank and Aurelio playing on the left.
Aurelio then became the left back when Gonzalez came in for Riise. He showed why he is called Speedy and showed some neat dribbling sometimes. Gerrard then started to play more at the centre and Liverpool started to come back. The game was lifeless at halftime.
Then 2nd started and everything looked well until Liverpool was caught offguard in a freekick and Hulse sneaked behind the defence and headed a thunderbolt past Reina. Liverpool was shocked and started to play a fast game with quick balls all around. Then their 1st chance of the game came when Sami Hyypia's header struck the left goal post of Sheffield United. Liverpool continued to attack while the Blades continued to sit back on their 1 goal advantage. You cant do that when you play Liverpool and that decision to sit back proved to be a mistake as Gerrard played a beautiful 1-2 with Fowler before he was 'tripped' in the penalty box. To be honest, the defender did NOT touch Gerrard at all. Gerrard saw the tackle coming and lifted his leg to prevent the tackle but somehow lost his balance. When he finally fell he argued for a penalty and that is what all players do eh? So the ref gave it and Fowler placed the ball calmly tand sent the keeper in the wrong way.
Although 1 point isnt good, but its better then nothing isnt it? :) As i read in the Liverpool forum, promoted teams are pumped up at the begining but they lose their steadiness and will exposed themselves in the later parts of the season.
And 1-1 isnt that bad at all. Check out yesterday's matches.

See..the promoted teams all scored! And Reading even came back from 2 goals down to beat Boro! Nvm Arsenal drew too HAHAHA XD
