After a long and frantic search on friendster for our camp trainers' profiles, here i am blogging :D
Well this shall be a long post, a long one since many posts ago.
Day one:We arrived in school at 730am and played soccer with each other, mysteriously zh's sec3 ball was found. We played for quite some time before someone urged us back to the canteen and we assembled at the flag pole area. A few of us went opposite without any teacher stopping us and we came back with loads of chocs, drinks and stuff.
We left for the camp soon after and reached half an hour later. My first impression of the camp was that it is going to be boring. However i was soon proved wrong by everything there. I was about to go through many things that i've not been exposed to, things that are going to make an impact on me.
We were introduced to our instructors, Crystal and Adi. Crystal, a sweet instructor who told us that she is 29 -.- Haha to think i was fooled right till the 2nd night of the camp.
Our class gathered at a nearby firewood area where we marked out and drew our class flag.
And from this time from what i could see, Clint, Eddie and the typical ones were already bored, perhaps from the lack of activities. Honestly i felt that way too and didnt participate much in the making of the class flag.
And after learning a few cheers, the common
'3/6 OI'
that would be replied with
'OI'
then the third time we say it, we reply with
'YOUR MOTHER REGGAE!'
Anyway, 3/1 to 3/4 were known as
ALPHA and we were known as
BRAVO and we competed in many things like cheering to performances, even the trainers had some 'competition' among themselves.
And next up was the camp lunch. Contary to what i expected, the food was delicious thought the portions were meagre. Perhaps because we were hungry like lions haha :D
After that we played the team building game,
1) A mat that was folded many times by Adi, and we worked well and managed to squeeze the small number, 27, of people we had.
2) The log game, we had 2 'logs' attached with ropes and we had to compete against each other and race. 'Left', 'Right'.. haha.
3) The whatever fun game, we had 3 boxes and four planks and we had to reach a destination appointed. The boxes were to be lay and the planks between them. And having lost the previous game, we had a uber cool and vicious plan - cut into the other team's course and steal their stuff.
Well the plan nearly worked! But Adi kicked away the box Clint and i stole, or we could've won the game haha. Then we were left stranded on the 'land' and our team had to rescue us, and therefore lost the race.
Then, we learnt line-dancing from Adi. And by this time i could see that Crystal was disappointed by our lack of enthusiasm. However a scolding by her made the restless people took part. After learning 2 parts of the dance, the plan was aborted and a cheer was created from the original one taught at the camp.
Called the Yusaku cheer, it was changed to Adi so that no one was offended though the former didnt come for the camp.
It goes like that:
Everybody Adi~
(boom, clap, boom -sick sound effect)
Round 2
Everybody Adi~
(boom boom, clap boom -sick sound effect)
Round 3
Everybody Adi~
(boom boom, clap, boom boom, clap, boom boom, clap, boom -sick sound effect)
Haha this cheer really made many go 'ew sick' ahahhaa.
Dinner soon and we were served with really nice food again, and i still stole plates and cutlery from the fellow classmates and rammed the food even before the makan cheer was sung.
Oh wait i havent told you about the makan cheer?!
Here goes nothing:
Hungry hungry
-clap clap-
Very very-
-squueze squeeze (in the air)-
Hungry very
-squeeze squeeze-
Very hungry
-squueze squeeze
Chi ke lak ta
chee ah
chee ah
Chi ke lak ta
bye ah
byeJIA! (makan in hokkien)
Then we'll begin eating.
Ps the italic words are edited haha.
Then we had the night walk! One of the highlights of the camp. We took a shirt and blindfolded ourselves after a briefing and we were splited into boys and girls. We held on the each other's back and were led to some places, toilets, an ulu place and whatever. And it was really frightening, and we really, really did depended only on our sense of hearing, and our safety lied in the hands of the person infront.
The calls of 'kerb', 'bench' and whatever obstacle really helped, and yes we bonded.
Then we took showers and cramped into the toilets, and we really were desperate, if you were there and saw how we took our baths.
And when we really were ready to sleep, Clint, Szu Hsien and the rest were real funny, tao pok-ing everyone and Mat shone the torchlight at the opposite female dorm, 'spot the blue underwear' LOL.
Day 2:So sorry! Only the second day of the post.
We woke up very early! Think it was approximately 630am? We then had breakfast consisting of noodles, well our class's was burnt and many of us threw the noodles away after a small nibble.
Then we went to the rock-climbing and zip-line stations. We were broken into 2 groups, me being in the zip line side. And it was hilarious, from people wearing their harnesses to Matiin going down the zip line haha. And i volunteered as the 'runner'!
However i was unlucky, everyone had their turn and when it came to mine, the time for the station was already finished, and so i dint do anything, apart from gulping down the unlimited supply of milo tanks haha.
Then we had abseiling and CRC, and i was in the abseiling. Was kinda fast, and easy but i was stressed up when i was all the way up at the roof because im afraid of heights and going down from such a distance really freaked me out.

Then we went to the CRC station to chher people on.
Yay finally i can start to upload the countless pictures i've taken.

We had lunch, and i asked for more rice since i was already uber lethargic. And then we changed! And went for kayaking! We were briefed by a uber macho and tanned instructor.
-Give him 1 macho clap
(clap, roar!)
Okay back to what i said, we were given our buoyancy vests and took our padle (according to Effa)

And i teamed with her, but Adi changed her for Hawzani who was with Matiin as both Effa and i could not swim.
Then we went into the waters, not before testing our PFDs and we raced to an instructor some distance away. Then our kayaks joined together and were held stationary, i began to feel sea sick as we were ordered to stand up.
And after the many slower kayaks joined with us, we sung, the instructor yakked on and as time passed i just could not hold on. And after chasing for the coloured balls released by them, i told Wani to go back to the shore with me. Thankfully she agreed and the session ended soon. Then we had to carry the kayaks back basket -.-
Then we had improvised rafting with our dear instructor SOTONG!
Rafting is something like kayaking, just that it can hold up to 13 people (which was done ytd) and we used the oars given and went very far into the waters BUT Sze Hsien still could touch the seabed -.-
We 'jumped ship' and soon after we return. Luckily this time the rafts were light.
Then after bathing in the sun for so long, we met nic for the knots and lashing session which was taught as i continued to doze off under the hot sun. Then we tied the barrels and poles together before Crystal released us to bath.
We gathered under a dorm when we finished and rehearesed. Surprisingly, the cheer Crystal suggested yesterday were copied down and passed around AND we manged to memorise them in a short span of 20 mins. And this time people like Clint really participated, like the shake shake shake that ass huh hahaha :D
Found this paper on the floor, dusted and kept it. To whoever who copied these down, thank you and i really appreciate your efforts. Then we had dinner and i traded my highly sought after veggies plus some donations to obtain a total of 5 drumsticks on my plate haha :D
And then we had our campfire! Many teachers plus Mrs Poh attended, with her daughther and declared the campfire open after an amazing start of flying fire balls and sparklers declared the grand opening of the event. And it was annouced that the camp chief, Mya was to step down for overseas studies after this one last camp. The classes performed very very nicely and everyone was packed with enthusiasm!
-random shot, think its EffaThen after the last piece of wood was thrown into the fire, we were dismissed and
gathered when Adi and Crystal gave us their thoughts on what happened so far. It got kinda sad out of a sudden and i really reflected then about what happened the past few days, they really changed me. Words like
Together
Everyone
Achieves
More will certainly be remembered by me forever.
We went to the canteen for our supper which consisted of milo (which i got addicted to) and curry puffs. Did a survey and a papers with questions given by the school. I really filled it up seriously and well, Adi thought mine was real nice haha.
Slept soundly that night despite the many airplane engines noises.
Day 3:Very saddening, and the pictures taken shall explain what i felt then. However all these memories will be kept inside me and i will carry on from here. And i believe, i've changed.
Our dorm
The breakfast! Eggs, bread and veggies given.
Ps Rayner drank a mixture of Milo, eggs and veggies (:
The water behind the toilet after we washed it was spilted into many tributaries which was dug by us to arrigate the soil.
