Torres strikes as Liverpool advances

Inter Milan 0-1 Liverpool (Torres, 64')

Ah i finally return to blog about Liverpool, long hiatus i guess. Sorry to all readers out there! (doubt there is any anyway) Okay back to the win, we finally won, after a poor game. Ironically i was just discussing on msn about how we fail to score late into the game, get dubious penalties, etc etc and there. Torres strikes.

This boy is a wonder. 26 goals already this season and he'll absolutely break the 30 goal mark barring any mishaps. For much of the game, we were very poor. Giving possesion away redundantly but fortunately, Inter's attack was as blunt as plastic knifes.

The much rated Ibrahimovic failed to impress though he sort of resembled Berbatov with his touches, albeit the former was just a toothless tiger. Not to discredit our defence, Reina had 2 world-class saves and shows why he is up there among the best keepers in the world.

Burdisso got sent off unfairly as the referee screwed up the game, totally. Then came the 64th minute, Torres received an ordinary ball from Aurelio, one touch, turn, half volley.

This boy is class.

The Inter fans who were boo-ing us for long periods of the game stopped when we start singing YNWA and even clapped us during injury time. Ah that's football.

Ratings:

Reina 7.5
2 great saves

Carra 6
Nothing much to do

Skrtel 6
Cleared danger but needs to be more composed

Hyypia 6
Nothing much to do

Aurelio 7
Went forward in aid to the left flank many times

Lucas 5
Ah the headless chicken

Mascherano 7.5
He is boss

Gerrard 6
An average performance by our skipper

Kuyt 6
Worked his socks off for us

Babel 5
Nothing of his recent form, aye?

Torres 7 (+1 for his goal)
John Burridge said that this boy is not worth 20 million at the start of the season, now eat that!

Overall performance : 6.5/10
Honestly we were poor but who cares, we won! Now who wants to meet us in the quater finals :)

We will play Inter Milan in a couple hours of time, bringing to the San Siro a 2 goal advantage thanks to 2 late strikes from Dirk Kuyt and Steven Gerrard 3 weeks ago.

Inter will be without defender Marco Materazzi after him being sent off quite unconvincingly in the first leg.

Below is their squad for this titanic clash

Goalkeepers: 1 Francesco Toldo, 12 Julio Cesar.

Defenders: 4 Javier Zanetti, 13 Maicon, 16 Nicolas Burdisso, 24 Nelson Rivas, 26 Cristian Chivu, 35 Dennis Esposito

Midfielders: 5 Dejan Stankovic, 7 Luis Figo, 11 Luis Jimenez, 14 Patrick Vieira, 19 Esteban Cambiasso, 28 Maniche, 30 Pelé

Strikers: 8 Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 9 Julio Ricardo Cruz, 18 Hernan Crespo, 29 David Suazo

The expected line up will be

Cesar
Zanetti Maicon Chivu Burdisso
Viera
Maniche Stankovic Figo
Ibrahimovic Suazo

as Inter will try to overcome the 2-goal deficit.

Over to Liverpool, we will be without defender Daniel Agger (foot) and Steve Finnan (thigh).

According to Rafa we'll be 'attacking' them, thus i believe we will continue our 4-2-3-1 formation, used recently in our 5 game winning streak,

Reina
Arbeloa Carra Skrtel Riise
Mascherano Lucas
Kuyt Gerrard Babel
Torres

Prediction: Inter Milan 1-2 Liverpool (Liverpool to win 4-1 on aggregate)

Sidetrack..

Boring day as heaven rained down its tears on us. Ate quite alot and i think my bmi currently is 10020.

Okay here it is, the draws.

PSV. Eindhoven - Arsenal
Lille - Man. United
Real Madrid - Bayern Munich
Celtic - AC Milan
Roma - Lyon
Barcelona - Liverpool
Internazionale - Valencia
Porto - Chelsea

LIVERPOOL VS BORDEAUX
UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE MATCH DAY 4

Anfield Wednesday,3.30am HK time

A win will ensure our qualification to the knock out stages as we have 7 points in hand now and we're topping the group with more goal difference than PSV Eindhoven .

We recovered from a disappointiong loss to Manure with a 3-1 win over Aston Villa and ended their unbeaten run in this year's EPL.

A win would be very likely and i'd go for a 3-0 win. Our home form has been great too. Winning 8 out of the last 9 games at Anfield.

Ok i shallnt post more. So this will be brief.

Probable line up should be.

Reina
Finnan Carra Agger Riise
Gerrard Alonso Sissoko Gonzalez / Garcia
Kuyt Crouch / Fowler

Omg we checked through papers today. Had an A2 if im not wrong for D&T. Dang if only we could take Home ec. for the 2nd part of the year.

Then it was chinese. All expecting good news eh? But nope, not this time. I wasnt in the top 5 of the ranking. I was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
dissapointed.

I was expecting a top 5 actually. A top 3 maybe, but with competition from Jacob, Jonathan, Kenneth etc.
But, i wasnt in the top 7 Mrs Lim mentioned.

There goes my hopes of promoting to higher chinese.
No offense, but people like Jun An, Guo Zhang were there instead of ME.

But Monica, the 1st in level obviously, cant promote. Its she her wish actually, its just that she promised her mom that if she takes 3rd lang., she cant take higher chinese.

Perhaps i'll stay in express chinese and give her some challenge ^^. But.. thats not i want. I think i've dont not that bad though. Top 10 im sure. But to higher chinese..

Ok enough of sad stuff.
So we went through Lit again. Mrs Lawrence said our class did kinda badly. But that doesnt apply to me right? =X

After school, Effau, Naf, Ben and i went to opposite to buy materials for the art presentation thingy.
We was trying to cut out a part of the cardboard, after binding them together with tape and stuff.

People in class was doing manually, slow and steadily. Well i dont like slow things. And we to D&T room in the end. Mr Ng helped us, using some friggin old machine and it makes squeaky noises, so damn high pitched.
What a good teacher. Just that hes gone next year aww :(

Went for badminton at 3.40pm in the end. I dont slack ok. I dont miss training. I simply skip em'. =X
Training was slack. I hate this coach. Fiona too. I rather its the Friday coach, tough training, sick training.
Ok maybe not =/

Played soccer after training. Was released early. And played with the ppl there. Badminton MINUS Fu Ing LOL vs the rest.
Jonathan was like a formula 1 car. Chiong arh!

Ok to the main thing.

Liverpool vs Bordeaux
2.30am Hong Kong time.

We'll be facing Bordeaux, a french team. We have not done well against french teams, winning just 6 out of 7 meetings and scored only 2 against them.
Anyway, this is the 1st time we'll be facing Bordeaux. The 99th European club we have faced.

And our form recently hasnt been great. Not winning any of our last 7 away matches.
Claiming only 1 point from a possible 12 in the EPL.
And the next match for us is Manure. Omg. They're in form and Rooney is back on fire, though he hasnt scored in his last 7 or 9 matches.

So its a must win game to boost our morale, so that we may WILL win against manure and Arsenal after that.
